TOH BIRD
THE LEGEND
It was once an extremely conceited and proud bird before the others. He did not usually make the slightest effort to hunt his own food, as the Toh bird was one of the royal species. They lived in the kingdom of the birds of the Mayan land, in remote times.
Back then, he had a long, delicate and shiny tail of many colors, which made him look as beautiful as King Kukul himself. That's why he was admired by the other birds, but this made him proud and arrogant.
Instead of working, he would join other royal birds in the cooler depths of the jungle, where he would spend all day telling stories and feeding on insects and lizards. Even then, the Toh asked his companions to find him food, so as not to mistreat the feathers of his long and beautiful tail.
One afternoon, black clouds appeared in the sky announcing a storm. An emergency meeting of the birds was then called to protect themselves, assigning each one their specific task.
Chujut, the carpenter; Panchel, the toucan; as well as Mox, Xtut and Exikin, the parrots and macaws, dedicated themselves to cutting branches to build a shelter. Bach, the chachalaca, and Cutz, the wild turkey, carried the heaviest branches. Small birds, such as crows and orioles, took it upon themselves to gather grasses and small plants to cover the shelter.
Other birds collected fruits and seeds for food. Some more dedicated themselves to alert the animals of the jungle. Among all of them, Oc, the king vulture, acted as chief.
Only the Toh bird refused to do any work, claiming to be "an aristocrat, not a worker." The other birds told him that they would all be sorry if the storm found them unawares and urged him to work with them. Outraged, the elegant bird took his place among the builders of the shelter.
Not many minutes passed and he already felt tired and sweaty, so he waited until no one saw him and he ran away into the nearby bushes. There he found a good place to hide: the crevices of a stone wall. He climbed into the hole, curled up, and went to sleep. Convinced of the effectiveness of the hide, he failed to notice that his long tail was dangling outside the shelter, over a path where workers passed with their load.
Some time later, the Toh bird woke up and heard the other birds sing. The storm had ended without doing much damage and the whole kingdom of birds was rejoicing at the good luck. He got out of his hole and flew to the shelter, where he asked the other birds if they also felt tired like him after the exhausting work done. All the birds agreed, but they assured that the work was necessary to save the forest and its inhabitants from what could become a great disaster.
Then the royal birds called the Toh and together they flew to their favorite perching spot in the jungle. As always, the Toh was placed in the highest place of the group, so that everyone could admire its beautiful tail. At that, one of the group's companions began to laugh at Toh, pointing to her tail. Little by little all the other birds did the same, telling him: “Your tail is ruined. You surely damaged it when you worked as hard as you say.”
The Toh bird was sure that this was a joke, until he looked at himself and saw only two long bare rods dangling and ending in a small set of feathers, like two arrows.
Horrified, he realized what had happened in his sleep. The smug bird acknowledged his guilt, but he couldn't bear to let his friends know the truth. His pride got the better of him and he flew away towards the most inaccessible part of the jungle. There he dug a hole and got into it.
To this day, the Toh bird remains a recluse in the jungle, avoiding other birds and making its home in holes in the caves, which give access to Xibalbá.

GALACTIC CAT
GALACTIC CAT
While experimenting with acrylics and water, I found the perfect mix to do the watered down effect and at the same time create a galaxy effect. The initial process was a bit boring since the results I wanted to achieve were not satisfactory, it wasn't until two weeks later that I decided to go back to work to make peace with her and talk about our differences and start to understand her, we reached an agreement and I began to see the path of colors more clearly and how I should add and subtract tones, when suddenly the gaze of the galactic cat emerged from infinity, with a look determined to stay, but they challenged me and asked me to do so. I painted them with oil and I did so to finally distribute some stellar remains of gold around them, encapsulating them with a layer of resin so that they shine like infinity.

BLUE LION
blue lion
A hot night came in the darkness of my imagination, hidden in the fog of confusion, I could only see a flash of his eyes, escaping these only let me see his silhouette.
A brush and a canvas witnessed this visual hunt. I started to get it out of hiding by capturing it on the canvas.
Seven months of continuous search, a night of romance, the lion that had already taken blue tones was the center of the conversation, suddenly it comes out of my resplendent imagination and is fully visible and there the blue lion that was hiding in the mist he came out with his flashes of infinite grandeur.

In the depths of your gaze

GLASS EYED OWL
This work was the result of the need to create and manipulate materials, without knowing what the final result of this need would be. Stirrer brushes and spatulas = being the tools that helped to manipulate the oily pigment. At the end of this work, my heart and spirit turned off this debauchery so that I could feel more at peace and happy with the final result.
